I stand behind the LENKA BLAZA brand
I am a Czech designer jeweler and in my work I combine traditional goldsmithing with experimental techniques, especially tinning and electroplating. For me, jewelry is not just a decoration. It is a space where metal meets nature, craftsmanship meets imagination, and raw material meets the final form that I give it with my own hands.
I design and make each piece myself – from the first idea to the selection of material and construction to the final finishing. Thanks to this, I know every detail of my work and each piece of jewelry bears my own unique signature.
Three ways I work with metal
Classic goldsmith work
I work primarily with silver and precious stones using classic goldsmithing techniques. I combine precise craftsmanship with my own concept of shape, construction, and combining materials.
Tin plating
Tin plating allows me to model jewelry directly from liquid metal and create distinctive shapes and structures. I have developed my own technique of tin plating natural materials, thanks to which the resulting jewelry does not appear to be tin at first glance and is closer to silver in appearance.
Galvanoplasty or electroforming
Using electroplating, I coat natural objects with pure copper. Their natural shape and structure are given a permanent metallic form. This technique allows me to capture the fleeting beauty of nature and transform it into a lasting decoration.
Materials I connect
I combine metal with minerals, gemstones, hand-wound glass, exotic wood, coral, fossils and pearls. I enjoy contrasting different structures, colours and materials and finding unexpected combinations.
A stone often determines direction
When working with precious stones and minerals, I am interested in their natural, unprocessed form. I do not always start with a ready-made design. Sometimes I am first attracted to a specific stone and its shape, structure or color, and only then do I look for a way to turn it into jewelry.
This approach is also well described by the words of the curator of one of my exhibitions, who sees inspiration in my work from surrealism, natural motifs and industrial to technical style. It is the combination of natural structures, metal and unusual materials that is characteristic of my work.
Jewelry as a personal item
Some jewelry is created from materials that have personal meaning to its future owner. A natural object brought from a favorite place, a stone found on a trip, or another object associated with a specific memory can be given a new, permanent form through electroplating or other jewelry techniques.
This is where jewelry becomes more than just an ornament for me – a personal object that can remind me of a person, a place, or an important moment.
I am sharing my experience.
In addition to my own creations, I also share my experiences. I am the author of the professional book All About Tin Jewelry, I offer a free sample e-book, and I personally conduct tin jewelry courses in my studio in Prague. During the course, participants create their own tin jewelry and practically try out the entire process.
I also regularly publish articles about jewelry making, materials, techniques, nature, and my own creations on my blog.
Experiences, exhibitions and media
My jewelry has appeared at exhibitions, design events and fashion shows. I have participated in 17 individual and joint exhibitions and in 2017 I was ranked in the TOP 10 of the Entrepreneurial Woman of the Year competition, which is announced by the Association of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises and Tradesmen of the Czech Republic on the occasion of Entrepreneurs’ Day in the Czech Republic.
In 2024, I created jewelry for the fashion show of the STYL Brno trade fair. I also collaborate with the fashion studio Donát.
You may have heard or read about my work in the media. I have been a guest on the Polopatě program several times, I have appeared on Sama doma, you have heard me on Rádi Blaník and an interview with me was published on iDnes.
Today, my jewelry is worn by women in the Czech Republic and abroad.
From economist to teacher to her own studio
The path to my own jewelry creation was not a straight one. Although I was attracted to art school from a young age, I graduated from a secondary economic school and later from the faculty of education. I worked as a teacher and then as an assistant in various companies.
Gradually, I realized that I wanted to devote my professional energy to my own creation. Today, I deal with original jewelry and artifacts, and most of my work is created directly in my studio.
What is jewelry to me?
I see jewelry as one of the oldest forms of human expression. Since ancient times, it has not only served as decoration – it could express belonging, status, relationship to nature, personal beliefs or memories.
Today, it can be primarily what you make it: an expression of personality, mood and your own style.
And that’s exactly the kind of jewelry I enjoy creating – distinctive, unique and wearable originals that connect nature, metal and craft.
